Harold Lyninger, age 82 of Sharps Chapel, passed away May 2, 2013. He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum. He was an avid fisherman and loved to make jelly and published his own cookbook. He was an extended “papaw” to many in the community. Preceded in death by son, Stephen Lyninger; sister, Dorris Hood. Survived by son, Larry Lyninger of Ashland, KY, Cheryle Miller of Oxford, GA, Joyce Reid of Halls, Susie Brown of Georgetown, IN; grandchildren, Jennifer, Lori Jean, Ryan, Tyler, Charissa, Matthew; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill of Lake City, FL, Jesse Paul of Louisville, KY; very special friend, Nikki Schaad. Funeral service 2:00 pm Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Jack Walker officiating. Family and friends will meet 3:30 pm Monday at East Maryville Baptist Church Cemetery for interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sharps Chapel Volunteer Fire Department. Family will receive friends 12 – 2:00 pm Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
