Harold "Gene" Harrington

Harold “Gene” Harrington, age 83, of Knoxville, passed away April 22, 2013 at home. Member of Fountain City United Methodist Church and Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class. He worked 41 years for Standard Knitting Mills, and after leaving there he and his wife started Halls Apparel. Preceded in death by parents, Ross and Mabel Harrington; brother, Henry Harrington. Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Betty Crippen Harrington; son and daughter-in-law Hal and Glenda Harrington of Knoxville; son, Kelly Harrington of Franklin; grandchildren Haley Harrington of Knoxville, Hunter Harrington of Franklin; brothers, Bill and Bruce Harrington. Memorial service 8:00 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Pastor Melissa Smith and Pastor Daniel Ogle officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fountain City United Methodist Church. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Thursday at Fountain City United Methodist Church Cemetery for 11:00 am inurnment. Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
