Gwendolyn Jared

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Jared, age 86, of Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, April 24th, 2016. She attended Northside Christian Church and was a member of the local chapter of The American Council for the Blind. She was also active and a past-president of the downtown Lions Club and worked many years in concessions at the downtown post office building. Preceded in death by husband, Herbert Jared, and parents, Kermit and Artie Sharp. She is survived by step-daughters; Lora Shouse, and husband Steve, of Antioch, TN, Rachel Murray, and husband Charles of Knoxville, TN, Sherbie Hampson, and husband Jack, of Knoxville, TN, step-grandchildren; Amanda Shouse, Matthew Van Hart, Sarah and Nancy Murray, Kitty Hampson, Jared Hampson, and wife Kirsten, 4 great-grandchildren, special friend, Janice Greenlee, and numerous extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions to be made to: Lions Club, Fountain City, P.O. Box 5276, Knoxville, TN 37928. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 28th, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet on Friday, April 29th, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier, for a 9:30 a.m. committal service. Rev.
