Gregory Eugene Sowder

Gregory Eugene Sowder, Sr., age 72, of Knoxville, formally Ft. Lauderdale, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 19, 2025. He was a member of One Life Church.

Preceded in death by father L.D. Sowder and mother June Sowder

Survived by wife of 34 years, Barbara Sowder; son, Gregory Eugene Sowder II (Cindy); daughter, Jennifer Sowder Wingler (Kyle); stepdaughters, Christi Welch (Mark) and Tracy Green; grandchildren, Ella Wingler, Jordan Keller, Corey Green, and Caleb Green; great-grandchildren Maddie Wilson, Adam Keller, Anna-Rae Landry, Abigail Green, and Nora Keller; brothers, Neal Sowder (Nancy) and Gary Sowder (Marti).

A celebration of life will take place Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM with a service to follow at 6:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, with Pastor Matthew Bradley officiating. On Friday, January 31, 2025, family and friends will meet at 12:15 PM for a 12:30 PM Committal service at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy.
