Greg Henderlight, 60, of Powell, was called home by the Lord on March 8, 2023. He is currently rejoicing in our heavenly home, reunited with his parents Andrew Jack and Willie Mae Henderlight and his older brother, Donnie Henderlight. The world is a darker place without the energy, loyalty, and light of Greg Henderlight, a man who kept his wife, brothers, children, and friends on their toes for years with his limitless ideas, passion for having fun, and musings about life. He was always up for an adventure, which has left his family with amazing memories and stories, a few of which are not fit to print. His family wishes to apologize to the auction house, not to be named, that once fell victim to Greg’s attempt to simply “practice” his bidding during a live auction. Greg lived life in a way that lives are meant to be led, not one to let an opportunity pass by.
He is survived by his wife, partner, and the person who has been his rock and kept him grounded for more than 20 years, Tara Henderlight, his beloved children Jocelyn Westberry (Michael), Desiree Henderlight, and Oliver Henderlight and grandchildren Abigail “Abby” Westberry, Dauson Varner, and Mylah Varner, his brother and best friend Mark Henderlight, and sister Teressa Conrad. He also leaves behind in-laws, nieces, and nephews who loved him very much as well as countless friends, business partners, and now, unmowed yards all across Knox County. His love for his friends knew no measure and his family was his greatest treasure.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a receiving of friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel from 5:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00pm with Rev. Leonard Goins and Rev. Allen Mayes officiating. Family and friends will meet on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 10:15am at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel to go in procession to Ft. Sumter Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service.
