Grady Winfield Madgett

Grady W. Madgett Sr. age 91 of Knoxville, passed away January 27, 2018. He was a member of Roseberry Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who worked on the USS Chicago and the USS Vicksburg. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting. Preceded in death by Theodore and Una Madgett; son Franklin Madgett; brother Paul Madgett; sisters-in-law Edith and Betty Madgett; brother-in-law Glenn Ely. Survived by loving wife of 64 years Wilma Madgett; son Grady “G.W.” Madgett Jr. and wife Sandy; daughter Teresa Hill and husband Charlie; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers Carl and Kyle Madgett; sister Phyllis Ely; sister-in-law Nina Madgett; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with service to follow, Rev. Rick Rogers officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Roseberry Baptist Church in Grady’s memory, 2920 Roseberry Rd Mascot, TN 37806. Family and friends will meet 10:45a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Roseberry Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00a.m. interment.
