Grady W. Madgett Sr. age 91 of Knoxville, passed away January 27, 2018. He was a member of Roseberry Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who worked on the USS Chicago and the USS Vicksburg. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting. Preceded in death by Theodore and Una Madgett; son Franklin Madgett; brother Paul Madgett; sisters-in-law Edith and Betty Madgett; brother-in-law Glenn Ely. Survived by loving wife of 64 years Wilma Madgett; son Grady “G.W.” Madgett Jr. and wife Sandy; daughter Teresa Hill and husband Charlie; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers Carl and Kyle Madgett; sister Phyllis Ely; sister-in-law Nina Madgett; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with service to follow, Rev. Rick Rogers officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Roseberry Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00a.m. interment.
