Grace Evelyn Nolen

Grace Evelyn Trotter Nolen, born in Knoxville on August 26, 1923 to Alexander and Maude Trotter, departed this life for her eternal home in glory March 21, 2016. Evelyn was a devoted wife to William (Bill) Felix Nolen, Jr for 30 years until his death in 1980, and mother to three children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Edith Ritter. In her earlier years, Evelyn loved traveling the world, flower arranging and bowling. She was a charter member of Norwood United Methodist Church and was active in the Norwood Garden Club. She also volunteered at St Mary’s Hospital and was a Cub Scout Leader. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Evelyn is survived by her children Donna Bacon and husband David, Ed Nolen and wife Nancy, and Gary Nolen; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Norwood United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice. Family and friends will meet 2:45 PM at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a graveside service at 3 PM Rev. Bob Ruth officiating. The family will receive friends 12 till 2 PM Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
