Goldie Gertrude Hudson McCarty of Fountain City passed away Thursday January 17, 2019 as a result of complications from a stroke. Retired from Standard Knitting Mill and K.T. Medical. Member of Washington Pike United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Dabney and Gracie Violet Hudson; husband of 62 years, Glenn Allen McCarty; brothers, Linwood Hudson, Jessie Hudson, Willie Hudson, Tilton Hudson, Carlton McNeely, Scott McNeely, Elwood McNeely and Willard McNeely; sisters, Florence Sparkman, Elizabeth Hines, and Elsie McClanning. Survived by loving daughter and son-in-law, Tom and Glenda Henry; brother, Howard Horace Hudson (wife, Marge) of San Diego, California; sister-in-law, Cynthia Hudson, of Gainesville, Georgia; her loving and faithful canine companion, Hailey; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Carolyn and Penny Kitts, Tom and Carole Ireland, Mark and Diana Saia, Barry, Cindy, Autumn, and Cody Stooksbury. Special thanks to her church family at Washington Pike Methodist, the wonderful angels at U.T. Hospice and care givers from First Light of Maryville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the food pantry at Washington Pike Methodist and the Humane Society of the United States. Services will be Tuesday January 22, 2019 at 7:00pm at Washington Pike United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Patrick (Pat) Polis officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:15am Wednesday January 23, 2019 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for a 9:30am interment. Family will Receive friends 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at Washington Pike United Methodist Church.
