Gloria Jean Henderson

Gloria Jean Foster Henderson, age 68, was welcomed into her Heavenly home on Tuesday, July 3 after a courageous battle with several illnesses. Although she will be greatly missed by family and friends, they are comforted by knowing she is free from the restricting and unbearable pain she suffered the last couple of years. Through it all, her faith in her Lord never wavered. Gloria was a lifelong resident of the Halls community, a 1967 graduate of Halls High School and a member of Union Baptist Church in Halls. She worked at Levi’s for over 22 years, then worked in the health field before retiring in 2011. After retirement, she loved going on cruises, enjoyed scrapbooking and kept her grandchildren before her illnesses curtailed these activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Lela Foster. Gloria met her best friend and husband of 46 years, Clyde Henderson, while they were both working at the Piggly Wiggly in Halls. He will greatly miss her but rejoices in knowing she is now pain-free and is able to walk on the streets of gold. Gloria also leaves behind her two loving children, Tina Steinke and husband Jeremy, and Brian Henderson; four grandchildren, Miranda Wolfe, Nicholas Steinke, Lucas Henderson and Brody Henderson. She also leaves two great-grandchildren who she enjoyed watching grow, Jazmine Sarras and Reign Sarras. She also leaves many relatives and her church family to mourn her passing. The family would like to thank the staff at Tennova North for their love, care and compassion during the last few days of Gloria’s life. The family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel on Monday, July 9, from 5:00pm-8:00pm with the funeral service to follow. Rev. Gary Vandergriff will conduct the service.
