Glenn David Fortner, age 79 of Knoxville, passed away on January 10, 2020. He was the son of the late Dave and Johnnie Mae Fortner and a member of Dante Church of God. Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Faye Fortner; daughters: Donna Moore and Amy Fortner; Son-In-Law Blake Moore; grandchildren: Lisa Whitsell and Kevin Moore; Grand-Son-In -Law Chris Whitsell; great-grandson, Bryce Whitsell. The end is not what defines a man. Glenn loved life, his family, fishing, and anything that allowed him to have fun with others. He loved a good joke, telling tall tales, and ensuring everyone around him felt comfortable and loved. He was not defined by just what he achieved, but his character and willingness to always share credit for all things with which he was associated. Life is not a destination, but a journey that is influenced by decisions and willingness to risk failure. If Glenn could speak to us today he would tell each of us to reach for what you want, never wait until tomorrow, and do not let others hold you back from your dreams.
