Gladys Williams, age 93, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. She was a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Gladys’s personality was bigger than life itself, and she was the glue that held our family together. Her laugh was contagious and she always had the right words to make your gloomy day a sunny one. She loved the tradition of cooking Sunday dinner for her family, flowers, and picnics in the Smoky Mountains.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Williams; brother, Bob Ellis; sisters, Betty Shultz, Helen Kernel and Lucy Miller.
She is survived by children, Brenda Belew (Eddie), Becky Porterfield (Robert) and Ben Williams (Cindy); grandchildren, Cindy Dickens Landon (Rick), Robert Porterfield (Tracey), Jay Porterfield (Bethany), Richard Belew (Stephanie), Tony Belew, Tina Freeman (Ike), Cody Williams and Braden Williams; great grandchildren, Reagan Dickens, Rylie Dickens, Kelsey Miztelfield (Elliot), Logan Belew, Roland Belew, Madeline Belew, Benjamin Freeman, Willa Porterfield, Whitley Porterfield, Madison Cropper and Liam Porterfield; brothers, Bill Ellis (Mildred), Jack Ellis (Joann), and Harold Ellis (Willie)
Friends may call at their convenience on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, from 10:00am until 5:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, from 5:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 12:00 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel to go in procession to Ft. Sumter Cemetery for a 1:00pm graveside service. Pallbearers will be Richard Belew, Tony Belew, Robert Porterfield, Jay Porterfield, Ike Freeman and Logan Belew.
