Gladys B. Garrett (Lawson)

Gladys B. Garrett (Lawson), age 79, of Knoxville, passed away March 19, 2018. She was a devoted member and piano player at Highland View Baptist Church for many years. Gladys retired from Old Fashioned Upholstery after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Berlen Garrett; parents, Robert & Biddie Spires; brothers, Lon (Ruth) Spires and Fred Atkins; sisters, Jessie Mae (Hal) Huffaker, and Gertrude (Jesse) Perkey. She is survived by loving husband, Bill Lawson; step-children, Debbie (Mike) Rutherford, Rusty (Sheri) Lawson, and Kevin Lawson; brothers, Raymond (Aurelia) Spires, Wayne (Tommie) Spires; her sister, Helen Atkins; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with funeral to follow at 7:00 pm, Rev. Terry Walker and Rev. Allen Mayes officiating.
