Geraldine Wright McKelvey, age 91, of Corryton, passed away peacefully March 7, 2016. She was a lifetime member of Clapp’s Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of Corryton Chapter #337 Order of the Eastern Star. She retired from Robertshaw Controls. Geraldine was preceded in death by husband Reed L. McKelvey, parents William and Nina Wright, son-in-law Tommy Everette, brother Harold Wright, and brother and sister-in-law Bill and Georgia Wright. Survivors include daughter Carolyn Everette, granddaughter Kristi Everette, grandson Bryan Everette and wife Margaret, great grandchildren Ben and Makenna Everette, sisters-in-law Mildred Wright, Dorothy Howard, and Maxine Irish. The family wishes to extend deep appreciation to the caregivers of Tender Loving Care, Maynardville for the compassionate, loving, care given over the last four years. Thank you, Anna, Ted, Peggy, Larry, Mary, Peanut, Mable, Alice, and Craig. Also to the residents of the home who loved her unconditionally and watched over her daily: Brenda, Linda, Dorothy, and Mary. To the nurses, chaplains, and social workers from Amedisys Hospice: Thank you for your support, care, and love for her during this journey. Family and friends will meet 12:45 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Greenwood Cemetery for graveside services at 1 PM with Rev. Wayne Loy officiating.
