Georgia Ellen Wamack went home to be with the Lord, at age 82, early on Friday morning, February 11, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was surrounded by her family until her departure at South High Senior Living in Knoxville, TN. Georgia, a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, was born in Knoxville, TN on August 27, 1939. Her parents were Mary Jane Hill and Clifford Wilkinson. Georgia married her faithful husband of 55 years on January 25, 1957. They had five children together. She had a love for the Lord, retired as a faithful employee to TVA for 25 years, and was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, writing, singing and most of all, spending quality time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant McKinley Wamack Jr; sons, Grant Wamack III and Jimmy Wamack; parents, Mary Jane Hill and Clifford Wilkinson; granddaughter, Sloan Furlong; and siblings, Eddie, Bennie, Reva, and Tommy. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Sayler and Kathy Pittenger; son, Jack Wamack; son-in-law, Rick Pittenger; grandchildren, Stuart, Chelsey, and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Knox and Oakleigh; siblings, Roscoe and Loretta Hill, Linda Kelly, Sandy Hounschell, Olive McClurg, Rev. Albert “Buck” and June Wamack; and numerous nieces and nephews. Georgia will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all that knew her. Family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 5:00 pm with Rev. Albert “Buck” Wamack officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:30 pm on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Pollard Cemetery 775 Pollard Rd. Kodak, TN 37764 for a graveside service.
