Georgia “Clonelle” Morton Jones, age 97 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and attended Salem Baptist Church. She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who had an infectious smile and laugh. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, loved traveling and rooting for the Atlanta Braves. Preceded in death by husband, George Neas Jones, Sr.; parents, Parlon and Stella Mae Williams Morton; son-in-law, Bob Zimmerman; brothers, Robert and James Morton; sisters, Ola Welchel and Mary Evelyn Chappell. Survived by children, George Jones, Jr. and wife Faye, Joy Zimmerman, Judy Hill and husband Ronald, Gerald Jones and wife Janice; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Sherman Morton and wife Elizabeth; sister-in-law, Freida Morton; several nieces and nephews.Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm, Rev. John Holland officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery for 11:00 am interment.
