George T. Robbins age 81, of Knoxville, went to meet his Lord and Savior Friday, December 17, 2021. Faithful member for over 40 years of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church. He was the Owner and Operator of Robbins Automotive in Fountain City for nearly 30 years, and after retirement, he continued his passion by restoring 1946 Fords and was a member of the Early Ford V8 Club. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served his country proudly. His humor and outlook on life was entertaining and his devotion to family and friends were admired by all who were blessed to know him.
Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Nancy King Robbins; parents, John and Dollace Robbins; and daughter, Jeanine Lawless.
George is survived by his children, Jerry Robbins and Felecia (Melvin) Turner; grandchildren, Brandi Crass (Mindy), Deidre Gilley (Alex), Micah (Jessica) Dwomick; great-grandchildren, Dakota Miller (Rebekah); and great great-grandchild, Leighton Miller.
Family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. committal service with Dr. Todd Stinnett officiating with full military honors presented by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard.
