George O. Watson, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020 in Knoxville, TN. George was born in Mannington, West Virginia in 1934 and lived an honorable and humble life. After serving 20 years in the United States Air Force, he went on to do various jobs but mostly he was a great handyman. George served our country during the Vietnam and Korean wars and was stationed in many placers throughout his military career. Some of his favorite activities were hunting and camping with his best friends, road trips to visit with family in West Virginia, and sharing stories about military life with anyone who had a few minutes to spare. George was a loyal Son, Husband, Dad, Papaw, Brother, Uncle and Friend. His smile, sense of humor, laughter, and gentle ways will always be cherished and never forgotten. He is survived by his brother Bill Watson and preceded in death by his father and mother, Earnie and Maude Watson, six sisters and his wife Wanda Watson. There will be a call of convenience on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City, where friends may pay their respects. Everyone will meet for a 3:00 pm graveside service at Bells Campground Cemetery in Powell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charitable organization.
