George Ernest Arthur

George E. Arthur, age 86, of Mannington, West Virginia, passed away March 8, 2016. He was a former member of St. Leo United Methodist Church and proud Korean War Veteran, serving in the US Navy on the U.S.S. Frank Knox. George was a devoted husband and father with a strong sense of family values. He was known as a man with a kind heart. George enjoyed being an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by parents Alva D. and Opal Faye Arthur, brother Junior Arthur, and sister Jean Russell. Survivors include wife of 59 years Carol Sue Arthur, children Steven E. Arthur and wife Tina, and Leonard Arthur and fiancé Robin, grandchildren Steven E. Arthur, Jr., Sarah Boyce, Daniel Arthur, Elijah Arthur, Tabitha Arthur, and Laurel Arthur, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 11:15 am Monday at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery Gov. John Sevier for graveside services at 11:30 am. www.mynattfh.com
