George Edward Fraser, age 79 of Knoxville, passed away June 27, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born in Alhambra, California, he was an expert rifleman who spent 6 years serving in the U.S. Army. George was a loving father and grandfather, who enjoyed gardening, camping, and shooting rifles. He graduated from Los Angeles Trade Technical College with a degree in Inspection Technology.
Preceded in death by his parents: George and Vera Fraser, and furry friend Joey.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Mae (Koon) Fraser, children: Renee Fraser, Kenneth Fraser (Heidi), Jason Fraser, Joshua Fraser (Erica), Jacob Fraser (Joy), and Jennifer Fraser (Cory), grandchildren: Janett, David, Jason Jr., Jacob, Phoebe, Vanessa, Jaxon, Justin, Conner, Landon, Ever, Leah, Colton, Liam, Isabella, and Eleanor, sister: Barbara Schlesinger, furry friend Henry, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, July 2, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6024 Grove Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM committal service at East Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
