Geneva Weaver Speaks age 97 of Norris, Tennessee. Our beloved Granny was born March 5, 1921, and passed away at her home on September 26, 2018. She made a friend of everyone she met. She loved to travel, she loved to read and do craft work, and she loved her church; but most of all she loved her family. She had a lifelong love of travel and visited all 50 states and several foreign countries. We will always treasure the many hand-made gifts she made for us. She was a faithful member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church, having attended services there for all of her adult life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Alton Speaks, her daughter, Carolyn Jean Speaks, and her parents, Walter and Desta Weaver. She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Dewaine and Ellen Speaks, as well as two grandchildren and their spouses, David and Michelle Speaks, and Suzanne (Speaks) and Jim Henry. She also leaves four devoted great-grandchildren and spouses, Allison (Henry) and Andrew Whitener, Laura (Speaks) and Kevin Davis, Rebecca Henry, and Aaron Speaks. She will be greatly missed by her special cousin, Betty West, of Palm Harbor, Florida, and other extended family members. Special thanks to compassionate caregivers, Tracey, Cheryl, Kalin, Lona, and Vickie. The family will receive friends Friday, September 28, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, 4131 E. Emory Road, Knoxville, Tennessee, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with funeral service to follow. Reverends Ivan Kennedy and Tim Clevenger will officiate. Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Saturday, September 29, at Norris Memorial Gardens for interment service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church, 135 Fairview Church Road, Heiskell, TN 37754.
