Geneva Etherton Strange

Geneva Etherton Strange, age 95, of Maryville and formerly of the Dante community in Knoxville passed away on Sunday, April 30th, 2017 at Asbury Place, Maryville. She was born August 24th, 1921 in Sevierville to the late Arthur and Dora Moon Etherton. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Alger Strange. Mrs. Strange was a longtime member of Dante United Methodist Church, a charter member of Faith UMC and worked in the cafeteria at Sterchi Elementary for 24 years. She loved vegetable and flower gardening. People passing by her house in Dante would often stop to admire the beauty of her flowers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by siblings Ruby Maples, Iva Suttles, Inas Smelcer, Irene, Josephine, Minor, Jack and Herbert Etherton. She is survived by children Sandra Strange Davis of Maryville and Steven Strange and his wife Connie of Lenoir, NC, grandchildren Barry Davis (Jeannie), Gina Davis Berman (Drew), Robert Strange (Melinda) and Lacie Bentley, great- grandchildren Madison and Makenzie Davis, Victoria and Joshua Berman, Sydney Strange, Hayden and Kadie Ross, sisters Eula Catlett, Evelyn Latham, sister-in-law Cora Etherton, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
