Gene J. Seider

Gene Joe Seider, age 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 31, 2021. Born December 12, 1934 in Payne, OH. Gene acquired his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Evansville and was privileged to work on the electrical system of the historical Apollo Lunar Module. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville where he enjoyed being a part of the choir ministry. His family will miss his daily encouraging text messages, prayers, and his kind and generous nature. Preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Carl Sieder and Clarice Ruth Seider; sister, Patricia O’Brian, and his wife Julia Judy Meyer Sieder. He is survived by his wife, Joan Seagraves Fleming Seider; son, David Sieder (Jeannine); grandson, Karl F. Seider; his additional children, Russ A. Fleming, Kim Fleming Meek (Bucky), Scott Fleming (Sybille), Kathy Fleming Hatcher (Ron), eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel on Saturday, January 8th, 1:00 pm-3:00 pm. An informal service will be held for the family at a later date.
