G.B. Russell

G. B. Russell, age 75 of Knoxville, passed away at home April 23, 2013. Devoted husband of 54 years and loving father, and papaw. Veteran of the United States Air Force. Preceded in death by parents, Lee and Leona Russell; sisters, Edna Cupp, Creetie Tinnel, Helen Russell; grandson, Brandon Kaleb Russell. Survived by wife, Mattie Chesney Russell; daughter, Vickie Wyrick; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Janice Russell; grandsons, Victor Wyrick, Nathaniel Wyrick, Andrew Russell; great-grandson, Landon Wyrick; sisters, Cora Jones (Arnold), Stachie Moriarity (Pat); brother and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Shirley Chesney, Peggy Dunsmore, Fred and Barbara Wallace; numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow. Rev. Kevin Roberts and Rev. Dallas Herrell officiating. Pallbearers: Victor Wyrick, Nathaniel Wyrick, Andrew Russell, Bob Weaver, Rick Jones, and Jeff Chesney. Honorary Pallbearers: Dennis Jones, Gary Chesney, Landon Wyrick, Bill Tinnel, and Vincent Cupp. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emory Pike American Christian Church Building fund, 7809 Boruff Road, Corryton, TN 37721. Family and friends will meet 10:30 am, Saturday at the funeral home and proceed to Emory Pike American Christian Church Cemetery for 11:00 am interment.
