Gary Thomas Whited

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary Thomas Whited, age 73, of Knoxville, TN, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025

Gary was born in Knoxville, TN to Hoyt and Naomi Whited on September 3, 1951.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Whited; sister, Barbara Hendrix; brother, Charles Whited and his parents, Hoyt and Naomi Whited.

Gary is survived by his brother, Leonard "Chick" (Jama) Whited; sisters, Patricia Jenkins, Evonne Knight and Connie Lane; brother-in-law, Bill Hendrix; sister-in-law, Carolyn Whited; children, Michael Whited, Thomas Whited, Carlenia Simmons, Chauncey Barns, Jennifer Whited, Terri Whited, Christina Whited, Sierra Cortes and Felisha Whited; special son, Josh Morris along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 1:00pm at Solway Church of God with Pastor Jeremy Daniels officiating.

Gary's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions be to Gary's lifelong church, Solway Church of God, 3317 Solway Road, Knoxville, TN 37931.
