Gary "Steve" Beckner

Gary "Steve" Beckner age 58 of Knoxville, went home to be with his Lord on the early morning of Sunday, February 16, 2025 after a valiant fight with liver cancer.  He was a member of Marbledale Baptist Church.  Steve never met a stranger and he never failed to help anyone with anything, from fixing their car to lending a sympathetic, yet discerning ear.  Steve loved riding his motorcycle where he and Robyn had their best times.  Steve worked on cars his entire life.  He loved working with technicians that were brand new and eager to learn.  He was the best husband; he and Robyn grew up together.  He was an awesome dad to Shea and Buddy and fur baby Tina.  Many summers were spent at the beach with his "grand kids" Lyla and Murphy.  His life was full of love for all of his nieces and nephews.  Our lives will never be the same.  Preceded in death by his mom Geraldine father Cecil; stepmom Dorothy and sister Ann.  Steve leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Robyn; daughter Shea Mayton (Mark) and William Mayton; sister Kathy; brothers Ray (Leah) and Richard (Vickie); uncle Steve's special squirt Briana; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends John and Anna.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2025 at Marbledale Baptist Church 5935 Thorngrove Pike Knoxville, TN  37914 followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service, Rev. Charlie Lynch and Rev. Jeremy Ruth officiating.  Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Asbury Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service, Rev. Danny Neal officiating.  Pallbearers; Buddy Mayton, Murphy Aycock, B.J.
