Gail Chitwood Blair

Arrangements under the direction of Mynatt Gail C. Blair, 79, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 with her beloved son by her side. She was a fireplug of independence, a fierce businesswoman, meticulous, generous, and devoted to her family and friends. As a nature lover, she hiked the Smokies, hunted wildflowers and waterfalls, loved the beach, the ocean, and the sun. Most of all, she loved a good laugh and found humor in the mundane and the absurd. Preceded in death by her parents, D.L. and Nila Chitwood; nephews, Ted A. Hensley, Mark A. Chitwood. She leaves her son, Joe W. Blair; grandchildren, Brett Blair, Allie Blair, and Ashley Blair Igbokwe; siblings, Kathryne Brock, Jane Hensley, L.D. (Mickie) Chitwood, Bruce (Polly) Chitwood; nieces and nephews, Nancy, John (Deanne), and Andy (Tammy) Brock, Anne Hensley, David (Judy) Chitwood, Tina Ridenour, Adam (Carissa) and Robert Chitwood. Family and friends will meet 10:15am Saturday at Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery for 10:30am graveside service.
