May, Frederick “Fred” Ramsey, age 86, of Knoxville passed away at home (Trinity Hills) on June 23rd, 2017. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, retired from Western Electric, a devoted member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by wife of 54 years Betty Tallent May, mother and father Nora R. and Rufus L. May, Sr., brother R.L. May, Jr., and wife Juanita, sister Doris Overbay, half-sisters Ruby and Ruth May, grandchildren Tyler and Sarah Crumley, brother-in-law William C. Tallent, and wife Wannie, brother-in-law Frank N. Tallent, and wife Bessie Mae, niece and nephew Janet Carver and John Overbay. He is survived by children; Fred R. May, Jr., wife Sandy, Cindy Crumley, Charles “Chuck” May, and wife Rhonda, Kristi Tillery, and husband Mike, grandchildren; Jason May, and wife Selena, Aaron May, and wife Mandy, Katie Weaver, Kandace Mackzum, and Ryan Tillery, great-grandchildren; Crysta Captain, Leah May, Blake Weaver, Ryleigh Mackzum, Asher Tillery, Nieces and nephews; Randy Overbay, Darryl Overbay, and wife Rhonda, Steve May, and wife Julie, Roger May, Bill Tallent, Jr., and wife Debbie, Ray Tallent, Jack Tallent, Tom Tallent, Trisha Lobasso, and husband Mike, and numerous extended family and friends. To the Trinity Hills staff, the family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for their tender loving care of dad. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 25th, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4014 Garden Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918, with funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Sarah Varnell and Rev, Kirk Werner will be officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. for a 1:00 p.m. interment service on Monday, June 26th, 2017 at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
