Freddie James Smith
Fred was born December 31, 1936 to the late Morris B Smith and Dorothy Wells/ Smith in Wyoming County, Pa. He lived in Athens, Pa. until 2016 when he and his wife moved to Knoxville, TN. He attended Troy, Pa schools when younger, worked many years on the Parks farm on Mercer Hill. Later he worked at Westing house and Kennedy Valve. He is survived by his wife Lorraine ( Lorrie) of 54 years, Daughter Nancy Johnson of Horseheads, NY, Judy ( David) Storelli of Dunlap, Tn. and son David ( Margaret) Smith of Knoxville, TN. Brothers Frank (Vernell) of New Mexico, Maynard ( Gail) and sister Jeannie Canfield both of Wyalusing, Pa. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers, Morris Jr., Dale and Willard. sisters, Clara Wizelman, Iva Collins, Thelma French and Helen Bouse. He loved his family and enjoyed telling stories to his Grandchildren. He loved watching the birds and just relaxing outside. He was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church where he enjoyed fellowship with the “ Young at Heart Group”. His heart was with the lord and he’s gone to have eternal life with our Heavenly Father. Freddie James Smith, you will be missed. Family and friends will gather 2:15p.m.Monday July 9, 2018, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 2:30p.m graveside service. Family will receive friends 6:00-7:00p.m. Monday evening at Crossroads Baptist Church with service to follow, Pastor Danny Dixon officiating.
