Fred Clayton Proffitt, age 62, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023.
He was of the Baptist faith and was saved at Bells Campground Baptist Church. Fred enjoyed drawing, fishing, riding motorcycles, building hot-rods, pinstriping, and loved driving a truck and operating heavy equipment. He’s been employed with Clinton Highway Wrecker Services for the past 25 years. Fred was a multi-talented person and was loved by everyone he came in contact with.
He is preceded in death by father, Roy Proffitt; brother, Tony Proffitt; nephew, Jason Proffitt; grandparents, Clay and Polly Jordon.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Proffitt; children, Dallas Proffitt (Shyann) and Tori Proffitt (Billy); granddaughter, Harper James; mother of his children; Donna Proffitt; special friends, Rick Carnes, David Parker, Clark Percell, Robby Neel and Colin Phillips; several other family members, friends, and co-workers.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel from 4:00pm until time of Celebration of Life service at 8:00pm with Rev. Rick Carnes officiating. Family and friends will meet on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel at 10:00am to go in procession to Bookwalter Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service.
