Fred M. Jones, born November 4, 1923, in Hawkins County, passed away on January 22, 2022, at Parkwest Hospital. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and watching sports. He retired from Southern Railroad and the Knoxville Post Office, 60 plus year Mason at Master's Lodge #244. He served in WWII in the Navy, was honored a purple heart, and also combat wounded on the U.S.S. Porcupine. Thank you to special friends Larry Dunn and Jason Hatmaker for loving and care and support. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Genevieve Jones, grandson, Robert C. Jones. Survived by his loving son, Chris Jones. Family will receive friends 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, January 24, 2022, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet 12:45pm Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 1:00pm graveside service, Reverend Bruce Marston.
