Fred Edward Henry, Sr.

Fred Edward Henry, age 86, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Powell for 51 years as a teacher and leader. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Fred attended Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy. He was the owner of Powell Scale Company. Fred loved his family, hunting and fishing. Preceded in death by parents Robert and Josie Henry; brothers Richard and Clyde Henry; sister Evelyn Johnson. Left to cherish his memory are wife of 64 years Eloise Henry; sons Fred (Danita) Henry, Jr. and Chris (Betty) Henry; daughter, Angela (Xavier) Taylor; grandchildren Austin (Annie) Henry, Craig (Stacie) Henry, Ashton (Dylan) Sauls, Ashleanne Zachary, Hope Henry, Mica Henry and Lexi Taylor; great grandchildren Hadley, Delaney, Fletcher, Grant and Jackson; extended family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy or First Baptist Academy of Powell. Family will receive friends Saturday, July 1st, 1-4PM at First Baptist Church of Powell with funeral service to follow at 4pm, Rev. Phil Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45PM Sunday at Cedar Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Philadelphia, TN on Hwy 322 for 2PM interment service.
