Fred Brownlow Allen

Fred Brownlow Allen, Jr., age 85, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January, 15, 2019 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lucile Allen; sister Joan Allen Moore. Fred was a 1950 graduate of Knoxville High School where he was active in ROTC and thereafter became a U.S. Air Force pilot. He loved his country, family, flying planes, riding motorcycles, and God. He led many souls to Christ during his tenure as a Baptist Minister. He is survived by wife Sandra Allen; sister Susan Allen McCurry; children Jeannie Allen Caylor, Robert Allen, Glenda Allen King, Fred Allen III, Sandra Allen Baggett, Mary Allen Lawson, Michael Sexton, and their spouses; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, January 21, 2019 followed by the funeral service starting at 7:00 pm. Family and friends will meet at 11:15 am on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for an 11:30 am interment. Active pallbearers include sons: Robert Allen, Fred Allen III and Michael Sexton; grandsons Rauly Baggett and Allen Andres Lawson; son-in-law Brian Lawson; and nephew Michael McMillen.
