- Scimonelli, Frank Joseph Jr, (age 78) of Powell, Tennessee passed away on September 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in Washington D.C. on September 10, 1946, to the late Frank Sr and Natalie Scimonelli. Growing up in District Heights and being from a military family, Frank attended Saint John’s College High School, where he participated in varsity football and baseball. Frank was also a member of the school band, the family band, and the local theatre company where he acted in many plays. He began his firefighting career with District Heights, Maryland - Engine 26 at the age of 15.
- In 1967, Frank met the love of his life while attending school at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland. Frank and Linda married and had three children and recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. Frank later completed his Bachelor of Science at Bowie State College in Maryland. Frank then decided to pursue his Master of Science at the University of Tennessee. So, in 1972, he packed up his family and relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee.
- Frank joined the Knoxville School System as an elementary teacher at numerous schools while also coaching football at different high schools throughout the years. In addition to his teaching career, Frank pursued careers with Rural Metro, TWRA and Dollywood. Frank then would become an administrator at several schools. Frank retired after 43 years with Knox County School System, in 2010. After “retiring,” Frank pursued a career with KCSO.
- Frank was proud to be a member of the Masonic lodge. He was an avid Redskins fan and rarely ever missed a Smokies baseball game.

- His loving wife of 57 years Linda Williams Scimonelli.
- His children: Janet (Randy) Williams, Jeanette (Gary) Barnes, and James (Ashley)
- Scimonelli.
- His grandchildren: Jordan (Landry) Stanton, Ryan Barnes, Bailey Williams, Averi
- Williams, Rylee (Zack) Isaacs, Reid Barnes, Reese Barnes, Zander Howard, Hunter
- and Kaden Underwood.
- Great Grandchildren Lucy, Jolee, Wesley Stanton and Carter Slaven.
- Siblings: Paul (Ginny) Scimonelli, Glenn (Donna) Scimonelli, Don (Hope) Scimonelli,
- and Angela (Bill) Myers and many nieces and nephews that he loved.
