Frances Qualls Nixon, age 96, passed away July 5, 2017. She loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Laurel Church of Christ. One of the many ways Frances showered love on others was at Children’s Hospital where she volunteered for over 27 years. Frances was devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson. They all have wonderful memories of their special times with Nana. Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Thomas Baird Nixon, parents Buck and Belle Qualls and sister, Marjorie Helen Cook. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Diana) Nixon and Michael Nixon; grandchildren Debbie Garrett, David (Monieka) Nixon, Thomas Nixon and Matthew Nixon; great-grandchildren Chad (Brandi) Garrett, Chelsea Garrett, Whitney Garrett, Wesley Garrett, and Chris Garrett; and great-great-grandson Chandin Garrett. Family will receive friends 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. Tuesday, July 11, Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Service will follow at 7:00p.m. with minister Mark Smith officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45a.m. Wednesday at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery behind Highland Memorial Funeral Home which is at, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919, for 11:00a.m. interment.
