Floyd Joseph Hipps

Floyd Joseph Hipps age 94, passed away on September 28, 2018. Floyd was the oldest member of New Fellowship Baptist Church. He was an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and served as a mechanic in the US Army Air Corps. He was retired from the Container Corporation of America and Worked at Dollywood during his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Verdi (Lambert) Hipps, wife Ellen Faye (Flynn) Hipps, son Joel Hipps, and grandchildren Angela Houser and Joey Russell. He is survived by his daughter Mary Sue Russell (Bob), sons Olin Hipps, Keith Hipps (Carol), special granddaughter Michelle Carver. Grandchildren Scott Russell (Nancy), Melissa Hickey (Scott), Lori Clonce, Ellen Locurto (Mike), and Kelly Helton and special friend Ella Lay. He also leaves behind his special fur baby "Della". The family would like to thank Dr. Alexander and the staff of tower 3 at Physicians Regional For their loving care. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel from 5:00-7:00 pm with a service to follow at 7:00 pm, Pastor Wayne Lay officiating.
