Floyd E. Reed, Sr.- age 87, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014, at home after a long illness. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and ordained deacon, a World War II Veteran, and a lifetime member of Charles H. McKinney Lodge #433 F&AM. He was retired from Associated Electrical Contractors and had worked as an electrician for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by parents John and Rushie Reed, brothers Hubert, Bill, Andrew, Roscoe, Jolly, and Paul, and sisters Jewell Kidd, Helen Daniels, and Marie Ford. Survivors include loving and caring wife Goldie, devoted son Eddie, loving pet Callie, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to Smokey Mountain Hospice where the staff was like family. The funeral service will be held 8 PM Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, Rev. John Holland and Rev. Trey Meek. Family and friends will meet 10:30 AM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home to proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for interment at 11 AM. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
