Faye Smith, age 93, of Knoxville passed away October 2, 2017. She was a godly woman who was a longtime member of Smithwood Baptist Church. She retired from Knox Department Stores and the University of Tennessee as a switch board operator. She enjoyed quilting at the O’Conner Center, working with Women in Missions, and bird watching. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by devoted and loving husband Robert (Bob) Smith; parents Sarah Beulah and Lon Maston Cooper; daughter Bobbie Faye Price. Survived by sons, David Smith and wife Linda and John Smith and wife Sandra; grandchildren Lindsay Case, Ashley Judd, Elizabeth Smith, Rebecca Smith, and Lisa Ferreira; great-grandchildren Eden, Deacon, and Canon Case, Addison and Abigail Ferreira; many special friends. Special thank you to Court Yards Senior Living for their love and care. Family will receive friends 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. Thursday at Smithwood Baptist Church with service to follow at 7:00p.m., Dr. David Crutchley and Rev. Noah Case officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Faye’s memory to Smithwood Baptist Church Women in Mission. Family and friends will meet 10:45a.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery for 11:00a.m. interment.
