Evelyn Bright Gose

Evelyn Bright Gose, age 100 of Knoxville passed away quietly in her sleep, Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Norris Health & Rehabilitation Center. Kind, helpful, generous, and smart, she was a graduate of Powell High School, a member of Arlington Baptist Church, and formerly a member of Sharon Baptist Church. A lady of many talents and interests, she played piano, finished cosmetology school, enrolled in business classes, managed her husband's Dixie Contracting Company, then later held a position in the Knox County Chancery Court for many years until her retirement. Preceded in death by husband George C. Gose; parents William Lafayette (W.L.) ("Fate") Bright and Mae Gault Bright; brothers Donald L. Bright and W. Grant Bright; sister Hazel L. McPhetridge; brothers-in­ law Ray M. Rutherford, Hollis C. McPhetridge, Cecil L. Gose, and Lonzo Curtis (Curt) Gose; sisters-in-law Peggy Bright, Agnes Gose, and Trula Gose. Survived by sister Barbara Rutherford and sister-in-law Mary Evelyn Bright; several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, to be followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am for an 11:00 am interment on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Sharon Baptist Church cemetery, Dr. James Robertson officiating at both services.
