Eunice Pearl Hughes, age 99, of Knoxville, Tn. passed on to her heavenly home on October 5, 2013. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on June 16, 1914, the youngest child of O.S. Stallings & Sarah Stallings. She was married to Gerald Hughes in 1934. They lived in Jonesboro until 1953 and she had two daughters Sarah Janiece (Allen) and Geraldine (Morton Heidel). They moved to Flint Michigan and she worked for General Motors and retired in 1971.
After living in Florida and Arkansas for a time she made her final home in Knoxville TN and attended Temple Baptist Church in Powell TN until she passed away. She was a very faithful member of her church and loved they church family. Most of all, she loved the many college students that called her "Grandma Pearl".
Pearl leaves daughter Geri and son-in-law Jim Heidel, five grand children, 13 great grand children, and eight great great grand children, one sister-in-law Charlotte Hughes, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents O.S. and Sarah Stallings, her husband Gerald Hughes, daughter Sarah Janiece Allen, son-in-laws Fred Allen Sr. and Charles Morton, and grand son Dennis Morton. We will all miss her dearly, but we know she is having a great reunion in heaven. Funeral service 1:30pm Thursday, Hansen Funeral Home, Davison, Michigan. Interment to follow at Crestwood Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
