Ernest Don Brown - Ernest Donnie Brown’s earthly life ended Monday July 31, 2023 at age 81 when he went home to be with Jesus. He was born in Knoxville in 1942, preceded in death by parents Ernest and Elaine Brown and brother Philip. Survived by wife Dianne Brown; sons Greg Brown, Eric Brown, Mark (Neela) Brown, brother Mike Brown; grandchildren Addy, Avery and Landon Brown; many friends and other family members. He graduated from Holston High in 1960 and achieved Airman 1st Class serving 3 years in the Air Force in England. He and Dianne were married in 1966 (57 years). He was an outstanding salesman and part owner of Appliance Distributors and Kitchen Town where he was known by many homebuilders as “my cabinet man”. Donnie loved NASCAR, Chevy trucks and cruising abroad. He loved watching his grandkids in their sporting events. He was an active member of Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church. Some of his best buds are the Romeos (monthly eating and spinning yarns group.) Special thanks to brother-in-law David Cass and the staff at Knoxville Home Dialysis Center for helping through the recent difficult years. The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday August 6, 2023 at Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church 1620 N. Central Avenue followed by a 4:00 pm Celebration of Life Service, Rev. Bruce Galyon officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 pm Monday August 7, 2023 at East Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery (John Sevier Hwy.) for a 2:00pm Committal service Rev. Bob Bean officiating with full military honors provided by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to EAUM Church Food Pantry 1620 N Central Street Knoxville, TN 37917.
