Emma E. Gray

Emma E. Gray – age 82 of Knoxville, born June 2, 1930 went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 10, 2013. She was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton. Preceded in death by parents, Tom and Maggie Warren Bright; sisters, Irona Boruff, Christine Bright, Louise O’Barr and Mabel Harrington; Brothers, Thomas, Virgil, Charlie Bright and Floyd Welch. Many nieces and nephews and other family members. Survived by husband, Rev. Charles E. Gray; son, Michael and wife, Ann Gray of Charlottesville, VA; granddaughters, Ashley and Hannah Gray, both of VA; daughter, Phyllis Owens and husband Frank; son, Juston Owens and wife Melissa all of Knoxville, TN. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, as well as a devoted caregiver to numerous children and to family and friends all of her life. The family wishes to thank many special friends and staff of Summit View of Lake City for their loving care during her stay there. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers of Tennessee. Family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow with Rev. Charles E. Gray and Rev. Jerry Vittatoe officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Saturday at Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery for an interment service at 11:00 am.News Sentinel
