Emerson Lee Mynatt

Emerson Lee Mynatt, age 85 of Knoxville, TN went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2019. He was an avid woodworker and took pride in his garden. Emerson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and, while serving, was a blimp navigator. Mr. Mynatt was also a United States Postal Employee for 36 years before retiring. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, as well as, a 32nd degree Mason. Preceded in death by parents Rush and Roxie Mynatt. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Cecil Mae Welch, children Carol Fortner and husband Arthur, Dwight “Butch” Mynatt and wife Pam, Dr. Randall Mynatt, Gwen “Gina” Bingham and husband Brad, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Gary Vandergriff officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45pm Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Fort Sumter Cemetery for a 2:00pm interment.
