Elmer “Big E” Clyde Clark, Sr., of Heiskell, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 20, 2015. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and a graduate of Halls High School, Class of 1959. He worked at Standard Knitting Mill, Dempster Brothers, and Knoxville Porcelain Products. He was preceded in death by parents Dail and Chloie Graves Clark, brothers Lester, Hollis, and Gene Clark, sister Helen Dills Blattenberger, and in-laws Link and Dora Cox. Survivors include wife of 52 years Shilda Cox Clark, son Elmer Clyde Clark, Jr. and Tammy, sisters Jane Humphrey and husband Pete of Florida, and Lerita “Nickie” Schaad, brothers Chester Clark and wife Ina, of Florida, Paul Clark of Knoxville, sister-in-law Louise Clark, brother-in-law Lynn Cox and wife Sharon, several nieces and nephews, special buddy Christopher Graves, who he considered a grandson, and special friends Tessia Ridenour and Dr. Jeff Stevens. Pallbearers will be Bob Clark, Christopher and Chris Graves, Sal Varsalona, Steve Smith, Danny Graham, and Todd Hunley. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Ogle, Richard Lawson, David Lowery, David Hurst, Jim Rodgers, and “The Boys” of Clark Enterprises. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7 PM with Rev. Charlie Tindell and Steve Foster officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:15 AM Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel and proceed to Zion Hill Church Cemetery for interment at 11 AM.
