Ella Mae Felix, 56, of Oneida, passed away January 4, 2017 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Ella was a tenacious woman, born in Oneida to Lloyd and Lorene Overton on March 4, 1960. She went to high school at Scott County High School and graduated in 1977. She went on to earn a cosmetology license. Ella, a daring personality, was unsatisfied with the daily labors of a beautician and sought greater challenges. In 1980, Ella enlisted in the U.S. Army where she served until retirement, attaining the final rank of Sergeant First Class. During her tenure, she met and wed her husband, F. Allan Felix (Master Sergeant, retired), a handsome and equally daring service member. She was a world traveler (conquering Japan, Egypt, Hawaii, Italy, Germany and many more) and an excellent leader, proudly taking charge of any situation despite the challenge; was aggressively loyal, never quitting on anyone in her life; and always ended her own bar fights. She was an excellent wife and mother, and will be sorely missed.
Ella is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lorene; and a sister Kelly Jones.
Ella is survived by her husband Frank (Allan) Felix of Haleiwa, Hawaii; son Eric Felix and wife Hannah; and two brothers Dewayne Overton and wife Melissa, and Jeff Overton and wife Regina.
Visitation will be held at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel in Knoxville on January 7, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with funeral service to follow, Pastor Brian Trapp of Roseberry Baptist Church officiating. Please leave condolences at www.mynattfh.com
