Ella Ann (Griffith) Witt age 82 of Fountain City Born September 23, 1939 went to be the Lord, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at her home. She was Fountain City woman of the year 1989. She was a member of the 1957 Central High School Class. She was a devoted Christian and an avid Republican, serving Knox County Republican Party in many capacities. She served on the Zoning Appeal Board for the City of Knoxville. She worked with the Dogwood Arts Festival and The Fantasy of Tree. She was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was proceeded in death by her parents Jay and Viola Griffith, sister, Diane Wilmouth and her husband of 50 years, Assistance Chief of City of Knoxville Fire Dept. James (Bud) Witt and grandson Reed Daniels. Survivors daughter, Vicki (Verlo) Williams, son Jay Witt, grandchildren Tracy Wyrick, Shay Witt, Dana Daniels, Chelsey (Shane) Gordon, Rachel Williams and Hunter Carr, eight great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Jean West, Syd Watkins, brothers-in-law Bill (Judy) Witt, Benny (Elaine) Witt, many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 2:30 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City to leave in procession for 3:00 pm graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery Rev. Justin Pratt officiating. For those who wish, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
