Elizabeth (Libby) Ann Miller

Elizabeth “Libby” Ann Miller June 11, 1952 – June 2, 2023
Libby Miller was our living miracle, our ambassador, and our guidepost. She received the most valuable player award at every family reunion. Her gift of remembering a voice and a face reflected her intense love of people, puppies, babies, and Mickey Mouse. Once she met you, you were always a friend. She used her art to connect with others and to share her hope for a
more colorful world. A person of defined tastes, Libby appreciated Dolly but not Garth, cashews but not peanut butter, “real” Coke but not “diet” and never beer.  Born to fiercely supportive DM and Viola, she was not supposed to survive past the first year, but her will to live not only taught us how to live, it taught us how to love. She was supported by her extended families at New Hope Presbyterian Church, Cansler School, Sertoma Learning Center, Sunshine Industries and Beta Home, and Westmoreland Health and Rehabilitation Center. Jon, Joe, Darlene, Tim, Brett, Shelley, Meghan, Marla, and her extended family will miss her gentle touch and unconditional love. Visitation will be at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, June 11, 2023.   Funeral, officiated by Reverend Lyn Oakley, will take place at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. John Sevier Hwy, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.   In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in Libby’s memory to Sunshine Industries/ARC Knox County, 3000 N. Central Street, Knoxville 37917 (sunshinekcarc.com).
