Edward R. “Eddie” Harvey, age 91, passed away April 7, 2014.Devoted member of New Beverly Baptist Church. Owner of Eddies Auto Parts for 67 years. He was a racecar driver and builder, having been inducted into Tennessee Racing Hall of Fame. He served in the 16th Armored Division US Army. Preceded in death by parents, Theodore Earl and Jessie Harvey; wives, Alice R. Harvey and Barbara J. Harvey; son, Curtis “Butch” Harvey; brothers, Robert “Bob” Harvey, William “Bill” Harvey and Duane Harvey; and son-in-law, Glen Claiborne. Survived by children, Brian Harvey and wife, Alicia, Phyllis Claiborne, and Edna Harvey; grandchildren, Mark and Paul Bass, David Harvey, Jeff and Matt Carr, Bryson Harvey; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Horton; special niece and nephew, Billy and Kathy Harvey; several other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Sharon, Brenda, Wanda, Karen, Shawn, Liz, Susan, and Sheila for their kindness, devotion, and loving care. Service will be 8pm Friday New Beverly Baptist Church, Rev. Eddie Sawyer officiating. Pallbearers: Bill Harvey, Bill Dunn, Brian Harvey, Gary Watson, Jack Edmondson, Paul Bass. Honorary Pallbearer Alvin Frye. Family and friends will meet 1:15pm Saturday Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment at 1:30pm. Family will receive friends 6-8pm Friday New Beverly Baptist Church.
