Edna Mae Dyer, age 94, of Luttrell, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, October 22, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, and family to whom she devoted her life and heart. She was a long-time faithful member of Emory Road Missionary Baptist Church in Corryton,TN. She retired from Hillcrest Nursing Home.She was preceded in death by father Andrew Jackson Dyer, mother Sally Dyer Capps, husband of fifty years John L. “Boss” Dyer, Sr., sisters Pearl Williams and Jewell Smith, brothers Elvin Dyer, Don Dyer, and Homer Dyer, grandson Richard Williams, great grandson Bradley Delph, sons-in-law Samuel Hopson and Paul Wilson, and grandson-in-law Gary Clark. Survivors include daughters Janet Hopson of Corryton, Mary Wilson of Luttrell, Anita Monroe and husband Bill, of Knoxville, sons John Dyer, Jr. of Luttrell, and Ronald Dyer, Sr. and wife Cindy, of Corryton, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 33 great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and close friends. The family wishes to thank UT Hospice Services for their special care of a special lady. Grandsons Jeff Williams, Gary Williams, Larry Williams, John Dyer III, Jason Monroe, Nathan Wilson, Matthew Dyer, Daniel Collins and son-in-law Bill Monroe will be serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with the funeral service following at 7pm. Services will be officiated by Rev. Charlie Lynch, and Rev. Ron Dyer, Jr with special music by Wendy Collins, Jason Monroe and Lorene Murray. Family and friends will meet at 1pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel to proceed to Dyer Cemetery for interment at 2 pm.
