Edna Harbin

December 17, 1937 — December 9, 2021

Edna Faye Harbin, age 84 of Powell went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Faye was a strong Christian woman and longtime member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was born in Niota, TN, one of 4 girls. It was love at first site when she met Jim Harbin. They soon married and moved to Powell to start a family. They worked side by side to build Harbin Enterprises. She raised three sons, Rick, Terry, and Dennis. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren Shawn and Jessica. Faye worked in her community as a member of Ladies in Construction, Ladies Auxiliary, Powell Lions Club, and Karns Republican Club. She loved gardening and being with family. Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Harbin, sons, Terry and Dennis, parents, Ethel and Stanley Frisbie, and sisters Ruth Mull and Eva Grace Toomey. Left to mourn her death are son, Rick (Glenda) Harbin, sister Kay Grady of Athens, and grandchildren Shawn Harbin and Jessica Harbin. She also leaves nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends. The family would like to send a note of appreciation to Beverly Park Place and to Preferred Care, Karla, Chandra, and Sissy for their excellent care. Also, thank you to Tara Clowers for her dedicated efforts at Blue Care. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 18, from 12:00 – 2:00 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery at 3:00 pm with Reverend Tom Sweet officiating. The family ask that COVID guidelines be followed.
