Edgar Raymond Ritter was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Edgar will be remembered as a very exceptional person. He was born the son of Jim W. And Eva Ray Fink in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 24, 1943. Edgar worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Edgar was blessed with three children, son Ray and two daughters Missy and Shannon. Another blessing for Edgar was the gift of one granson and three grandaughters, Brent, Britteny, Chelsea, and Emily as well as one great-granddaughter, Brooklynn. Edgar’s faith was important to him. He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. Edgar passed away on October 3, 2012 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He is survived by son, Ray Ritter, daughters, Missy Gass and husband Tommy, and Shannon Ware and husband Kent, grandson; Brent Gass, granddaughters; Britteny Slaughter and husband Mike, Chelsea Ritter, and Emily Ware, and great-granddaughter Brooklynn Whittenberg. Services were held at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Edgar was laid to rest in Browns Gap Cemetery. Simply stated, Edgar was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Edgar leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Edgar Raymond Ritter.
